Nigerian woman sentenced to 25 years in jail in Cambodia for drug trafficking

A Cambodian Municipal Court yesterday June 11th sentenced 36 year old Nigerian woman, Collin Seniola Bosede to 25 years in prison for international drug trafficking after being found with 1.5kg of methamphetamine in her bag at the Phnom Penh International Airport in August 2013.

Bosede, who was travelling to Cambodia from Nigeria on August 4th made a stop at Qatar where according to her confessional statement, she met with a Canadian man named Amad who handed her a bag containing cassette players, the drug, clothes and a laptop and asked her to give it to an unidentified man in Cambodia. She was arrested as she landed at the Phnom Penh Airport.

During her trial on May 27th 2014, Bosede said she did not know the bag contained any drug as what she saw was only the laptop and the clothes in the bag. As the court read the verdict yesterday, she began crying. "It was very unjust. I was not the drug trafficker. Please release me. I want to go back home,” Bosede said.

    1. Good deeds indeed...was the man a complete stranger? What was she going to do in Cambodia? Nigerians involved in drug trafficking should know that they have no voice when caught. Their country will do nothing unlike other countries so they are at the full disposal of any country!

  30. @ edDreamz, u don't hv to believe her, the truth remains what it is, locked permanently in the past, known only between Her n God. I hope somehow someway a streak of mercy befalls her. If u v watched a few episodes of "Banged up Abroad" u would know no scenario is impossible.

NOT THAT I BELIEVE THE STORY FULLY BUT THIS IS A TWO SIDED ISH AND I CAN'T DEDUCE THIS COS IT'S NOT ALL THAT IS ON BOARD THAT WE KNOW AS TRUE. IN A SENSE, SHE MIGHT BE GUILTY AND IN ANOTHER, INNOCENT.

I THINK SHE WAS AT THE WRONG PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME.

  49. Better to be poor and free than this. When will they learn not to traffic in Asian countries? Now she stuck in some nasty jail cell eating rats and lizards for the next 25 yrs, shitting in public for all to see.

Does the Nigerian government even run psa's to make their citizens aware of the outcomes when they traffic in these countries? If she was in China it would be a death sentence.

  51. You were not the drug trafficker but the drugs were caught in your possession, so that means you are a drugs trafficker, even if you were unaware of the drugs- you should have crafted a better story than that! In Cambodia they take drugs traffficking as a serious matter, unlike Naija

    ReplyDelete
  52. It doesn't matter if you did not know. As long as hard drugs are found on you, you are the trafficker. If you travel, please carry no bags for anyone. She's even lucky. In some countries, the penalty is death by hanging.
